ESL Milonga Update..

We haven’t forgotten our promise folks :)

We’ve been on site at the new location of ESL and frankly, it looks phenomenal. We were psyched to see the very same paintings and chandelier’s being hung! along with other homely nostalgia. The owner is going to every length possible to create the beautiful ambience that ESL has always been known for. And guess what?.. the new venue will have food! So you never have to leave! :)

The Tuesday night format will be the same as it always has been: Drills, two different level classes, followed by the sexiest milonga in town.

The grand re-opening of ESL milonga will be in early Spring of 2022. Hang in there folks.. we’re almost there. Stay tuned to our website for regular updates.

Other exciting news. The Fábrica teaching team is growing as we expand our school and our classes. We’d like to welcome Robin Thomas as our resident guest teacher and DJ. And DC’s very own, beloved Alex Hartsell as a resident teacher. Alex has had a strong presence in our classes in Annapolis and has been training with Aja. We are so lucky to have these extraordinary two gentlemen join our extended team.

A well-known and respected dancer and DJ, Robin's enthusiasm for Argentine tango can be seen most clearly in his wholehearted dedication to teaching. He believes that it is very important for students to dance simply and musically from the very beginning. Building that strong base of connection and musicality early, Robin believes, will allow even very new beginners to feel comfortable and confident on a crowded dance floor and lead to a comprehensive and fluid understanding of more complicated techniques later on. Robin's teaching style reflects this philosophy, and his students appreciate the humorous but still down-to-earth way he presents the material..

Robin's travel schedule is a busy one, reflecting his popularity as a teacher and DJ.

When he is not traveling, Robin stays busy in his hometown of New York City teaching classes and DJing. On the rare occasion that he is neither teaching or DJing, Robin can be seen on the dance floor, either working to expand his own understanding of tango, or simply enjoying the connection he works so hard to share with others.

Alex began learning Argentine tango in 2012 in Atlanta, while studying Physics at Georgia Institute of Technology. What started as a challenge quickly became a lifelong passion. He’s been dancing every moment since. Alex believes tango provides a course for self exploration, self expression and deep connection with others. His goal is to help people find their own Tango, and a quality of movement that is right for their bodies. Prior to his tango life, Alex underwent 12 years of intensive training and competing in Tae Kwon Do with Belvin Eaves. He spent 8 years teaching Tae Kwon Do to people of all ages and backgrounds in the Charlotte NC area.
