We are searching country wide (and beyond) for an ARGENTINE TANGO TEACHER OR TEACHING COUPLE to run an established tango community just outside of the DC/Metropolitan area in the beautiful town of Annapolis, Maryland. The Annapolis Tango community, founded in 2016 by Julie McCormick, has hosted teachers from around the world and boasted long-term resident instructors J Abling and Rachel Moon. In 2021 Annapolis Tango became a sister school of DC’s Fábrica Tango Academy run by Aja Fenn and Masha Abapolnikova who have served the Washington metropolitan area and the global tango community as teachers, performers and event organizers co-jointly for over 20 years. This extraordinary opportunity can be a full-time OR a part-time position. The current schedule includes weekly Beginner, Adv. Beginner and Intermediate Classes, a weekly Practica and occasional Milongas as well as Private Lessons. You will have the freedom of running your own community and finances, along with all the benefits of being part of an established brand and team - Fábrica Tango. Required skills and attributes: Former experience teaching Argentine tango A strong desire to grow and nurture a community of tango dancers A desire to work as part of a larger team but take ownership of your own branch of the school. Comfortable DJing
A plus but not required: Experience running a school or experience in marketing Experience as a community builder/tango event organizer Expertise in dancing and/or teaching other forms of social dance
Candidates will need to own a car and live in/relocate to the Annapolis area. Start date is flexible; we are seeking the perfect teacher for the community.
